Lost Is Going To Be Good

"I'm one of the Oceanic 6."

What a way to start. I'll take the 8 episodes lock, stock and barrel.

I just hope it doesn't take all eight before we find out who the other three are.

Well ... with the question about other people/survivors by the mysterious "Oceanic" employee who forgot his business card, I'm picturing a couple things.

1) Jack, Kate, Hurley, coffin guy, Sayid and Sawyer are the six.
2) Coffin guy is Michael?
3) Michael does something to save the 5 others to get them rescued.
4) Jack, Kate, Hurley, coffin guy, and the two others are rescued, but by the end of the last season end up back on the island.

Three years to find out. Perhaps four if we only get 8 episodes this year. I was wondering whether they might change the season makeup because of this forced break. 8 episodes this year, the remaining 8 they planned added to next year's 16 for a full 23-24 (because the last titled episode is normally two hours long. And then have them say, "What the heck, let's make a full season for the last one."

I watch and then miss a few shows and then watch the season ender. Then the season premiere "special" that recaps the last few seasons, so I'm missing a few details.

Was the "Jacob" in the cabin Jack's dad? For a brief moment, that's what it looked like.

And who is coffin guy?

I heard it was Jack's dad, and I've seen a still that shows it is him. What that means ... anyone's guess. Heck, perhaps the island brought him back. Charlie certainly hit Hurley hard enough to snap his head back. And I don't recall ever seeing Dave touch Hurley at any point in the episode where we found out about Hurley's time in the asylum.

I would say that Charlie was real and dead and there in some special "island" way, just the same way the other visitations showed up in past seasons (the black horse, Yemi, Dave).

We never see Christian's body. The coffin Jack found at the caves was empty, so who's to say the Monster didn't revive/use it in some way?

As for "coffin guy" ... I'm referring to the funeral Jack went to at the end of Season 3. He saw this obituary in the paper, called someone (possibly Kate) and went to funeral. He was the only mourner, according to the funeral director. No one else was there, so there wasn't any way to know who was in the coffin, which was closed. You never found out who it was. Is it one of the Oceanic 6? Possibly, but there weren't any news broadcasts, and the people at the hospital didn't mention anything about someone dying. So, I've got lost of questions, but no answers. Anyway ... I call him coffin guy, assuming it is one of the O-6 group. I figured Michael only because I know the actor is returning and the neighborhood where the funeral parlor was located was a predominantly African-American community from the exterior shots and the ethnicity of the funeral director. You could lay odds that it's Hurley, but I think that's stretching it a bit. Plus, I don't think the producers could weather the storm if they killed Hurley.

I'd lay odds it's a main character, though. They aren't going to "rescue" a secondary character like Bernard or Rose or whoever. And with Charlie's death, there aren't many of "main" characters. There's Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, Sun and Jin (who I think of as sun and moon whenever I say their names together), Hurley, Locke. That's 8 people.

I'm not counting Michael and Walt because I never thought of Walt as a main character. Michael might survive, but the producers could kill him off in the flash forward while keeping his character around for whatever happens between the "rescue" stuff that's playing out now and in the final season/flash forward.

I'm also not counting Desmond because there isn't any reason for him to remain in LA, let alone remain in an poor neighborhood.
