Two Days, 4,000 Words

After yesterday's successes, knocking out eight pages, I matched it with a similar amount today. It's only 10 p.m. and I'm done for the day.

Eight pages seems about right for what I can do without getting silly stupid. Since I reached the end of the chapter and I'm switching back to the male viewpoint with the next section, it's best to get a good night's rest before writing like a guy* again tomorrow.

I'm almost two pages short of 200. That mark will fall before noon. The completed chapter started out as fifteen pages where I'd split the original in half for this rewrite. I tightened quite a lot, but I also fleshed out Joan's reaction to her assault at the beginning and her progression from shock to shame to rage. Fifteen pages turned into 20 by the time I was through. I'm still not holding anything back.

*--John Scalzi took the gender test, running both The Sagan Diary and The Android's Dream through that site's analysis to determine whether he was "authorially hermaphroditic" and able to write like a woman or a man where required. I did the same for the sections of Fallen written from the Christopher and Joan viewpoints. Found that it was pretty accurate. Of course, I'm happy with that assessment; it's good to know I can write like a woman. ;-)
