Columbus, Ho!

Driving down to Columbus, Ohio, tomorrow for Context. Planning on relaxing this weekend with friends. Tim Powers seminar still scheduled for Saturday; convention admin reports he still plans to attend even in light of his recent loss. I've a few panels, nothing too stressful. Only one conflict, but the website programming list wasn't updated since I heard back from OPS, so I'll find out my final schedule tomorrow when we get to the hotel near 4pm.

Planning on reading some Harry Potter to Abigail while Melissa drives.

I'm a nice husband. Melissa gets car sick if she isn't driving, so she either sleeps on trips and lets me drive, or she drives and I get to read. Win-win situation all round.

The Son of Fear vs. Fun

Or is that the sum?

The four-page synopsis, with its single-spaced lines, pared down to one page of single-spaced lines, is back to two pages, with equally dense (and single-spaced) lines. Rewriting is akin to literary Darwinism. I'm sending the book out into the world after the weekend. It needs a message cipher installed in an early chapter. Linguist, programmer, writer and good friend maradydd is making a secret code for my secret history. :-)
