It's midnight, and I shouldn't be here. REM sleep calls. Blame Bear, because today is a new day and I must must must finish "Sacrifices" in the next two days and open Fallen for revisions/additions because I joined Novel in 90.

We don't hate her. No. We love her. Because pain is good. Pain is beautiful.

Well, I sure didn't sleep well after making the decision. But that's probably due to back problems and skipping a dose of Motrin. ;-)

But deadlines are good, and I can handle 4-5 pages daily. And posts I've read this past week as people ramp up for the new year, about holding nothing back, make me want to expand the book. At this point, I've written the edited version rather than the kitchen sink one. So 270 pages, spread across edits and additions, isn't too daunting. The manuscript is around 450 pages. It's probably cheating.

Doesn't sound like cheating to me. I'm assuming the point of the exercise is to get a novel completed. Just because you're not starting from a blank page shouldn't matter. :-) We've *ALL* seen how easy it is to have N% of a novel in hand that *NEVER* gets finished. :-)

And tonight? Don't skip the Motrin!, says the woman who keeps forgetting to reorder her arthritis meds... :-)

My "file cabinet" holds five novel manuscripts, one of which is complete. There's a folder for at least two Fallen sequels. Shorts are little better with 24 folders with only four sold out of the 10 completed. Prolific I am not. So deadline is an eight-later word, not two four-letter ones.

Nice icon, btw.

I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I considered blaming you, but decided it really is just a deep-seated need on my part to torture myself in public. ;-)

Consider how much better you'll feel when you succeed.

The idea's good. Finishing the first novel is one thing. Finishing the second and then the third, and so on is the real test.

Yep. I've lost the self-discipline I used to have. I'm hoping this will help me recover it.
