Two Hurdles Left

I hate nearing the end of a novel. Doubt creeps into my thoughts, and I believe years worth of effort is wasted. Unlikely to see the light of day beyond my computer. :-(

Then, I string together good words. Words that make this hobby worth every moment. It's like being a father. You do anything for your kids. You want to see them reach maturity.

After a long struggle post-Novel In 90, where I bogged down with the expanded material, I've finished the penultimate chapter. It's only fifty pages long, a little more than 12,500 words. One chapter and an epilogue left. Man, I can't wait for this to end.

Well, once you finish the first draft and set it aside for a couple of months while you work on other stuff, you'll be able to come back to it with fresh eyes and identify that which sucks and that which shines and do something about turning the former into the latter.

Much success!
