Asimov Bounce

Driving home from work Friday, and I just knew I was going to get a reply back from Asimov's for "Romeo, Unbound" in the mail. Rejectomancy being what it is, my instincts were up to speed, and I did get a reply. Just not the one I wanted.

Since I missed the deadline for WotF, which was June 30, I decided to try Baen's Universe. So the story's going to get tied up for a while again. At least I've got a few months before the September deadline for WotF.

If it bounces both places, I'll have to start looking at viable semi-pro markets or whether I need to trunk the piece. It's such a bummer writing stuff that people don't want to buy. Especially when each project ends up being a longer piece, either novel length or a mosaic made from shorter works.

Such is the other side of the writing life.
